2014 - October - Entire General Conference

Welcome! Here is the first post of hopefully many. My goal is to analyze the scriptures of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by looking at statistics of commonly used words from the words of living and past prophets. These will come from the biannual General Conference speeches, scriptures (the Book of Mormon, the Holy Bible, the Pearl of Great Price, hymns, etc), and other speeches.

I'm looking for trends:
  • Trends over the course of one conference
  • Trends based on who conference speeches were addressed to (eg, Priesthood sessions compared to the General Women's sessions)
  • Trends looking at one speaker at a time (eg, the living Prophet, Thomas S. Monson)
  • Trends over the years (eg, comparing recent Conferences to ones held 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 years ago)
I plan on being as open and straight forward as possible -- I'll give you all the stats that I find and I'll explain my process.

Lets start off with my first word cloud that sparked my interest in making this blog.
